It was time to reboot HERE WeGo, so we’ve given it a fresher, more modern edge. We’ve made the navigation simpler and you can now choose your preferred mode of transportation.

And there’s so much more: from saving maps for offline use, to displaying parking availability at your destination, HERE WeGo does everything you need.

Navigation

How do I add waypoints?

New HERE WeGo feature**

To add waypoints to your route, please follow these steps:

  1. Launch the HERE WeGo mobile app
  2. Enter your final destination and click on 'Get directions'
  3. Start navigating - drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  4. These options will become available: 'Gas', 'Restaurants', 'Parking', 'Toilets' and 'Search'
  5. See available waypoints by clicking on the relevant icon, or select 'Search' to add a specific address
  6. Select your choice of waypoint from the list or map - click on 'Add waypoint'
  7. Your waypoint is now added to your route

What are my options for voice guidance?

HERE WeGo relies on the OS (both Android and iOS) for the voice options it offers.

This means that the text-to-speech (TTS) system installed on your phone will be the one through which we offer our list of voices within the app. If you wish to use a type of voice guidance that is currently not on the list, you may install your desired TTS directly from your phone's system settings (outside the HERE WeGo app).

Your TTS options will vary depending on your device model and your OS version. To change the voice's speed, please check the voice options under your phone's settings.

How can I run a trip simulation?

To simulate a trip in the app, you should:

  1. Launch the HERE WeGo app and enter your final destination in the search bar
  2. Select 'Get directions'
  3. As soon as the app displays the route and the length of time it takes for you to get there, you'll also see an icon on the right to start your navigation
  4. Press and hold onto this icon to begin the trip simulation

Why am I not getting any search results?

If the app is not showing any results for your search:

  • Make sure there are no typos - some street names can be tricky to spell
  • Type the entire street name + house number
  • Avoid street name abbreviations; they may interfere with search results
  • Make sure your internet connection is stable when navigating online
  • If you're searching offline, make sure you've downloaded the offline maps for the area where the address is located

Can I set speed limit alerts?

Yes, you can. To turn on speed limit alerts:

  1. Launch the app - select 'Settings'
  2. Select 'Speed limit alerts' to turn the following options on or off;
    1. Speed limit displays
    2. Alerts when you've gone over speed limits
    3. Alert sound
  3. You may also set alerts from a particular speed limit

Which transit types can I use in HERE WeGo?

You can find results for navigating by car, public transportation and by foot.

Why is my current position inaccurate?

For us to provide accurate location info, you must have a stable internet connection and your permissions for access location must be turned on. These phone settings might help to improve a location's accuracy:

  1. Select automatic time zone
  2. Make sure 'Power Saving Mode' is off
  3. Remove battery optimization
  4. Because the app depends on GPS and other technologies, your current location might vary by a couple of meters

How do I find the nearest bus/train departure?

Find the nearest public transit departures at your location with the following steps:

  1. Launch the HERE WeGo app
  2. Enter your final destination
  3. Select 'Get directions'
  4. Select the public transit option
  5. Check out all the public transit options near you to get to your destination

I have an electric vehicle. How can HERE WeGo help me?

HERE WeGo covers electric vehicles and can show you where charging points are located. To enable this function on your app:

  1. Launch the app - drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  2. Select 'Settings'
  3. Under 'General', select 'Fuel type'
  4. Under 'Fuel type', select 'Electric'

Now, whenever you search for EV charging stations or try to get a waypoint while navigating (by selection 'Gas station', for example), the app will take into account that you have an electric vehicle and show you the relevant results.

What are my options for voice guidance?

To apply route preferences, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the HERE WeGo mobile app
  2. Drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  3. Scroll down and select 'Settings'
  4. The app will display several options that you can avoid on your route (e.g. ferries, highways, tunnels, roll roads, unpaved roads)
  5. Select the options you'd like to avoid on your route These will be taken into account for future navigations
  6. Enjoy the journey!

How can I use HERE WeGo in dark mode?

To use HERE WeGo in dark mode, you should:

  1. Launch the app - drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  2. Select 'Settings', then 'Theme'
  3. Turn it on to automatically sync your app's theme with your device settings
  4. You can also turn it off in case you'd like to personalize it differently. The app will then display 'App theme' and 'Map view' as two subcategories
  5. In 'App theme', select your preference for the app's UI color
  6. In 'Map view', select your preference for the map's theme
  7. Select 'Auto-switch' for both options to view changes according to sunrise and sunset "

How can I clear my search history?

To clear your search history on the app, please follow these steps:

  1. Launch the app
  2. Drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  3. Scroll down and select 'About, Legal & Notices'
  4. Select 'Clear history'
  5. Your search history will be deleted

How do I edit or delete shortcuts?

Add shortcuts to look up your most visited destinations quickly without having to type their addresses in full.

Upon launching the HERE WeGo app, access these shortcuts via the bar at the bottom.

To add, edit or delete shortcuts, select the app appropriate icon and hold your finger there for a few seconds.

The app will display four options: 'Change address', 'Rename', 'Rearrange' or 'Delete shortcut'.

The 'Home' shortcut is the only one that will always be placed first and unlike the others, it cannot be renamed or rearranged.

Can I set speed limit alerts?

Yes, you can. To turn on speed limit alerts:

  1. Launch the app - select 'Settings'
  2. Select 'Speed limit alerts' to turn the following options on or off;
    1. Speed limit displays
    2. Alerts when you've gone over speed limits
    3. Alert sound
  3. You may also set alerts from a particular speed limit

How can I enable or disable traffic info?

Turning on 'Traffic' allows the app to send HERE info about your ride (e.g. your car's location, the direction of travel etc). We combine this info with what other drivers have sent to provide you with better and faster routes.

To turn traffic info on or off:

  1. Launch the app
  2. Select 'About, Legal & Notices'
  3. Select 'HERE Traffic'
  4. Turn it on or off

I have an electric vehicle. How can HERE WeGo help me?

Collections

How do I edit, delete or manage my collections?

To manage, rearrange or edit your Collections:

  1. Launch the app - drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  2. Select 'See all' to the right of the 'Your Collections' option
  3. To edit your Collections folders, select the three dots next to the folder that you'd like to edit or delete
  4. To edit places saved under the folders, select the folder where this location is saved
  5. Select the three dots to the right of this location or POI
  6. The app will display the options to edit the place, share it, add it to your shortcuts or delete it

Your collections are synced to your HERE account. Log in with the same account on wego.here.com to access your Collections on your web browser to edit or add new places.

What are 'Collections'?

Collections' is where you save all the places you love and want to remember. You can also collect new places to try out later.

Place these locations in different folders and organize them according to your wishes (e.g. Create collections of 'restaurants', 'nice places to visit', 'parks' etc - or any other category of your interest. It's all up to you!). 

How can I create new collections?

To add new places to a Collections folder, follow these steps:

  1. Search for the address or POI that you'd like to save as a collection
  2. Once the app displays the results, you'll see an option next to a star icon that says 'Save in Collections'
  3. Select this option and add it to your existing folders or create a new folder with it

 

Here's another way of creating a new Collections folder:

  1. Launch the app - Drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  2. Select 'New collection' under the 'Your Collections' option in the menu
  3. Name your new folder and choose one of the available images for your collection
  4. Select 'Create collection'
  5. Your new folder is ready! To add new places to it, select 'Add a place'

Offline

How can I download and use offline maps?

To navigate offline, download the offline maps of the areas you wish to navigate:

  1. Launch the app - drag the bottom bar up to expand the menu
  2. Under 'Your Maps', you'll see a 'Download maps' option
  3. The app will display information about your system storage (i.e. how much free space you have for maps) and a button that says 'Download new maps'
  4. We group offline maps by continent to make them easier to find. Select the continent where your region of interest is located to search for the relevant maps
  5. Select the download icon to the right of the region's name - wait for the download to complete
  6. Before navigating offline, remember to tag the 'Use app offline' option located within the app's menu

Why is my offline search not working?

Make sure you've downloaded the maps of the areas you'd like to search offline. Check that you've tagged the option to use the app in offline mode. The street, city or region should be spelled correctly with no mistakes. Abbreviations might affect the app's results.

Account

Why should I create a HERE WeGo account?

With a HERE WeGo account, you'll enjoy a personalised navigation experience.

Save your favorite places under 'Collections', create your own shortcuts, sync your preferences with HERE WeGo Web and navigate offline.

Connect your account to your email address, Facebook account or Apple ID account for easy log-in - whatever fits you best!

How can I change my password?

If you've forgotten your password or would like to change it, please log in to your account. Under 'Password', select 'Change password'. 

How can I change my email address?

To change the email address linked to your account, follow these steps:

  1. Type wego.here.com into your web browser
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Select 'Menu'
  4. Select 'User Name' - A new sign-in page will open up
  5. Change the email address under 'Account details'
  6. Enter your current password
  7. Confirm change via an email sent to the new email address you've entered

Note: if your account is linked to your Facebook account or Apple ID, you cannot change the linked email address"

Why is HERE WeGo being redesigned?

Many of you are fans of the old design and, to be honest, we loved it too!

On which devices can I use HERE WeGo?

We support HERE WeGo on a large number of devices. However, they have to meet these specific criteria.

Android:
Device type: Smartphone
OS version: Nougat API 24 7.0
Device orientation: portrait
Screen resolution: 360 x 640 viewport (1px = 1dp)
Minimum 1GB of RAM

iOS:
Device type: iPhone
OS version: iOS 13.0 on
Device orientation: portrait
Screen resolution: 750 x 1334 pixels, 320 x 568 viewport

I would like to add or edit my business info on your Maps. How should I proceed?

To add, delete or edit POIs or addresses on our maps, you can:

  • Submit info via our Map Creator tool. We'll verify the info and apply it to our maps once it's approved
  • Send our support team detailed info about the places you'd like to add or edit. We'll be happy to support you

What should I do when I come across inaccurate and/or missing data on WeGo maps?

We work hard to keep the maps as current as possible, but as data consistently changes around the world, some of them can take a bit more time to be reflected in our maps.

Please message us with more details about the errors you've encountered. We'll be glad to assist you. 

Why is the app loading so slowly?

First, make sure you're on a stable internet connection. If you are, but still have issues with the speed of the app, we suggest verifying the following points on your phone's settings:

  1. Check that you've turned on permission to access your location while using WeGo
  2. Select the automatic time zone
  3. Check that your phone is not in power-saving mode
  4. Deselect battery optimization
  5. Should the problem persist, contact our support team and provide as many details as possible, so we can better assist you.

Will using GPS deplete my phone's battery life?

As HERE WeGo needs access to GPS to work, your phone might use up more battery life while you're actively navigating. (This is quite common with apps that depend on your phone settings.)

If you feel that our app consumes too much of your battery life, we'd recommend that you check your phone's battery settings and adapt it according to your usage.
