Chief Executive Officer

Edzard Overbeek is leading HERE Technologies as it enters the next phase of its growth as a newly independent location cloud company. He brings to HERE Technologies a unique mix of sales and technology experience, having joined from Cisco where he was Strategic Advisor and responsible for the Global Services organization with over $12 billion in revenues and 15,000 employees.

Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Kristina Bohlmann oversees all marketing and communications activities for HERE Technologies. A passionate, energetic and down-to-earth leader, she brings to the role deep experience in both agency and corporate PR for consumer and B2B organizations. She has been a long-time advocate of placing social media at the heart of the company’s communications strategy. Prior to HERE Technologies, she led the communications function for Nokia in Germany.

Werner Buskermolen

Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Werner Buskermolen leads the Human Resources team at HERE Technologies. With more than 20 years of HR experience to draw upon, he acts as a senior advisor on all people-related and organizational matters to ensure the talent agenda aligns with the company’s vision in a best-in-class global, inclusive workplace. Prior to HERE, he worked for almost five years at Informatica, the global Enterprise Cloud Data Management company headquartered in Redwood City, California. During his remit there, he held several roles, last as Senior Director HR for EMEA. Before that he worked for over 5 years at NetApp as their Senior Manager Talent Acquisition in EMEA and prior to that he had several consulting roles in the HR domain.

Denise Doyle

Senior Vice President and Chief Data Officer

Denise Doyle oversees Strategy & Data, which includes data sourcing, privacy, content and business models in multiple functions throughout the company. She has two decades of experience in strategy development, business portfolio planning and corporate development across North America, Europe and Asia. She joined NAVTEQ – which later became HERE Technologies – in 1999, developing strategies and leading commercial negotiations on major supplier agreements. She also held business analyst roles at AOL and Miller Brewing Company.

Fred Hessabi

Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer

In his role as Chief Customer Officer, Fred Hessabi is leading the Global Sales & Professional Services team. Fred is responsible for growing HERE’s business and diversifying the customer base globally. 
 
With more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, he brings a wealth of Software- and Platform-as-a-Service sales expertise. Prior to joining HERE, Fred held sales leadership roles at several prominent companies, including C3.ai, SAP and Siebel.

Giovanni Lanfranchi

Giovanni Lanfranchi

Senior Vice President and Chief Product & Technology Officer

Giovanni Lanfranchi is Senior Vice President and CPTO at HERE Technologies. He steers the venture of HERE Technologies into the next generation of location-based services based on platform-enabled applications and solutions in areas such as autonomous driving, asset management and augmented reality. Lanfranchi joined HERE Technologies from IBM in 2018, where he served as Vice President Global Technology Services and Head of WW Service Delivery Architecture & Technology in charge of the overall IBM Services Platform with Watson.

Damandeep Kochhar

Damandeep Kochhar

Senior Vice President, Platform Foundation

Damandeep Kochhar is Senior Vice President, Platform Foundation, at HERE Technologies. In his role, he leads the company’s core engineering activities, including the development and operation of our highly automated mapping system for creating, updating and publishing map content.

Daman joined HERE in 2015, bringing to the company his two decades of experience in the technology and product domains. Much of his early career was spent in senior roles at Genpact, a global professional services company. Daman graduated in Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering and completed his post graduate in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

David Kenzer

David Kenzer

Chief Legal and Compliance Officer

David Kenzer is Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at HERE Technologies, responsible for all legal and regulatory matters for the company. In his role, David also oversees the management of HERE’s world-class intellectual property portfolio, which includes approximately 3800 assets that protect over 1800 different inventions. A seasoned legal professional, David joined HERE in 2017 from Toptal, a global network of software developers, designers and finance experts. Prior to that he served in a variety of legal executive and leadership roles for other technology companies, most notably Google, Lenovo and Motorola Mobility, where he served as Corporate Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He earned a Juris Doctorate from the Pritzker School of Law at Northwestern University; he also earned a Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. 

HERE Supervisory Board

The HERE Supervisory Board supports the company’s long-term strategy to become the leading location platform serving multiple industries.

Formed in 2016, the Supervisory Board brings together recognized industry leaders and shareholder representatives to oversee the executive leadership team of HERE Technologies.

Pekka Ala-Pietilä

Board Chairman

Mr. Pekka Ala-Pietilä is the Chairman of the Board of packaging company Huhtamäki and learning company Sanoma. He was also co-founder and CEO of Blyk Services Oy from 2006–2011. Between 1985–2005, he held several leadership positions at Nokia and was previously Chairman of the EU Commission’s High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI HLEG). He acts as a mentor for many young future experts and decision makers, and holds an honorary Doctor in Technology from Tampere University of Technology and in Science from the University of Helsinki. Mr. Ala-Pietilä was appointed as Chairman of the HERE Supervisory Board, effective as of February 17, 2021.

Koji Tashiro

Mr. Koji Tashiro, General Manager, HERE Project Office, Mitsubishi Corporation. Based in the Netherlands and in his second stint at Mitsubishi Corporation, Mr. Tashiro previously served as Group CIO of its Machinery Group and has been in charge of promoting company-wide digital strategies since 2019. Mr. Tashiro was appointed as member of the Supervisory Board on February 5, 2021.

Dr Rainer Feurer

Dr. Rainer Feurer, Senior Vice President, Corporate Investments at BMW Group. Since joining BMW Group in 1998, Dr. Feurer has held various strategic planning positions and was deeply involved in the strategic set-up of the BMW Group in China. In 2019 Dr. Feurer became responsible for BMW’s equity stakes in joint ventures in China, and investments in Mobility, Energy, Digital & Professional Service companies. Dr. Feurer was appointed as member of the HERE Supervisory Board effective as of February 18, 2020.

Katsuichi Sonoda

Mr. Katsuichi Sonoda is Senior Vice President, Head of Strategic Business Development of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT). He previously served as Senior Vice President of NTT DATA Corporation and drove the business in the healthcare and public sector.

He has been demonstrating leadership in accelerating various smart city projects at NTT. Mr. Sonoda was appointed as member of the HERE Supervisory Board effective as of May 10, 2021.

Neil Hunt

Dr. Neil Hunt is co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Vibrant Planet, a public benefit corporation developing sustainable tech solutions for forest management and carbon markets. Prior to this, Dr. Hunt co-founded and led Curai Health, developing AI solutions for healthcare.  Dr. Hunt served nearly 20 years as Chief Product Officer at Netflix. He is a Board Member of Logitech and Roku, and also holds advisory roles with several healthtech and media startups, Scotiabank digital advisory council, and the University of Durham (UK) CS advisory board. Dr. Hunt was appointed as member of the HERE Supervisory Board effective as of July 29, 2020.

Axel Dewitz

Mr. Axel Dewitz is vastly experienced across the automotive industry, currently holding the position of EVP and Head of Taxes, Customs and M&A at Audi Group. Prior to this, Mr. Dewitz was Director, Mergers and Acquisitions at Audi, as well as Director, Controlling at Volkswagen Group Italia. He has a successful track record in tax and customs management, transactions, M&A, board relations, strategy, and business development. Mr. Dewitz was appointed as member of the HERE Supervisory Board effective as of August 18, 2020.

Adine Grate

Ms. Adine Grate is a well-known and respected professional in the European investment community. She spent 13 years at Investor AB where she was an EVP and Executive Director on the Executive Board. Ms. Grate has extensive investment, strategy and corporate finance expertise and has been intimately involved with some of Europe’s largest M&A deals of the last 20 years. She has carved out a reputation as a highly effective Non-Executive Director, Committee Chair, Chair and Advisor. Her board experience ranges from large FTSE 100 companies to smaller private equity-backed businesses. She has deep domain knowledge, in particular in TMT (technology/media/ telecom), financial services and turn-arounds. Ms. Grate is currently, amongst other things, Advisor to CK Hutchison Holdings, board member for KOKO Ltd. and co-founder of Skiff Capital Advisors Ltd. She is chair of the HERE Audit Committee and was appointed as HERE Supervisory Board member on February 16, 2021.

Magnus Oestberg

Mr. Magnus Östberg is Chief Software Officer at Mercedes-Benz AG, with overall responsibility for the Mercedes-Benz Operating System. In his position, Mr. Östberg oversees the in-house development of Mercedes-Benz’s own vehicle architecture, centrally focusing on the customers’ needs. Mr. Östberg has deep expertise in vehicle software, infotainment and telematics gained through various management positions at Delphi in the U.S. and Germany.

Ricky Hudi

Ricky Hudi is a mobility technology pioneer with great passion for innovation and 30 years of experience in the automotive and related tech industry. After holding various roles at BMW AG and AUDI AG he took over in January 2009 as Executive Vice President Development Electrics/Electronics AUDI AG.

He is Chairman of the Industry Advisory Board for HERE, Chairman of the Advisory Board for the International Congress of Automotive Electronics in Ludwigsburg and serves on the Open Innovation Advisory Board for Samsung and on the Technology Council for Harman.

Ricky Hudi is co-founder of TTTech Auto in Vienna and Chairman of "The Autonomous".

Patrick Cheng

CEO, NavInfo

As one of the founders of NavInfo, Patrick Cheng has experience in technology, marketing, sales and management through taking responsibility of various departments over the last 13 years.

As CEO of NavInfo since 2015, he has been pushing the globalization of the company by enhancing global partnerships and fostering extensive R&D in the fields of autonomous driving and implementing “turnkey solutions” with hardware and software for telematics.

Prior to becoming CEO, Cheng was COO of NavInfo and played a key role in re-organizing the structure of the company and shaping its new strategic position. Cheng has also previously developed and managed NavInfo’s marketing and sales operations and expanded the business to European and North American clients.

Thomas Lantzsch is the SVP and General Manager of the Internet of Things (IoT) Group at Intel Corporation. He leads the worldwide organization responsible for Intel® architecture computing solutions across IoT market segments, including manufacturing, industrial, retail, transportation, smart buildings and homes, and aerospace.

Dr Claudius Leibfritz

Dr. Claudius Leibfritz

Member of Board of Management, Allianz Spain

Claudius Leibfritz is a member of the Board of Management of Allianz Spain and oversees business development and digitalization/data analytics in Spain. Prior to this, he was a member of the Board of Management of Allianz Partners and CEO Automotive. Claudius Leibfritz also has managed several regional groups at Allianz. Before this he spent more than ten years at Boston Consulting Group conducting various international projects. After graduating in Business Administration at the University of Tübingen, he earned his doctorate in Economics and Controlling at the University of Bern.

Imran Sayeed

Imran Sayeed is part of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation faculty at the MIT Sloan School of Management where he teaches Disruptive Technologies, New Business Models, Software and Internet Entrepreneurship, and Global Innovation in Large Companies. 

Previously, Sayeed was CTO and Head of the Digital Practice for NTT Data, Inc., a subsidiary of the 6th largest technology consulting company in the world with 75,000 employees in 45 countries and $16 billion in annual revenue. Sayeed also led the global Innovation initiatives across NTT DATA focusing on Disruptive, Incremental, Top Down, Grassroots, Industry-specific and Horizontal innovation and the mechanisms for developing, measuring and creating impact across 4 continents. 

Robert Siegel

Lecturer, Stanford Graduate School of Business/Partner, XSeed Capital

Robert Siegel is a lecturer in Management at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and has led primary research and written cases on Google, Box, Stripe, AngelList, 23andMe, Lending Club, PayPal, SurveyMonkey, Medium, Wikimedia Foundation, Minted, 500 Startups, Axel Springer, General Electric and Starbucks (La Boulange).

He is also a partner at XSeed Capital. His investment areas include business operations where computational technologies automate and improve company performance, mobile solutions for firms of all sizes, and software systems that shape both business and consumer behaviors.

Cham Zhong

Cham Zhong leads three departments at Tencent MIG (Mobile Internet Business Group): Browser Product, Map Platform Product and Smart Platform Product. He established the Wireless R&D Department in 2008, and in early 2009, he launched the browser project, which hatched the basis of the mobile phone QQ browser.

Young Sohn is Chairman of the Board of Harman International, and was formerly President and Chief Strategy Officer for Samsung Electronics, where he led development and strategy for global innovation, investment and new business creation. Young led the $8 billion acquisition of Harman International Industries. 

Prior to joining Samsung Electronics, Young served as CEO of Oak Technologies, Agilent Semiconductor (now Avago) and Inphi Corporation. Under his leadership as CEO and board member, he took PLX Technologies, Synnex Technologies and Inphi public. He also has served on the Boards of ARM, Synnex Corporation and Cymer, Inc. 

Stephan Durach

Senior Vice President, Connected Company Development, Technical Operations, BMW Group

After graduating in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Stephan Durach joined BMW Group in Munich in 1998. He started his career in software processes and methods and ran various departments in the Electronics division. In 2008 he became Head of the Technology Office in Palo Alto/Mountain View. Upon returning to BMW headquarters in 2011, Durach took over the department for Entertainment, Mobile Devices and App Centers before leading Electronics in the product line for luxury class BMW. He joined the Purchasing and Supplier Network division in 2015, leading the purchasing for Information and Communications electronics and ConnectedDrive. In 2015, he extended his responsibility to the complete electric/electronic portfolio with the BMW Group. From 2017 to 2020, Durach was Senior Vice President, Purchasing and Supplier Network Digital at BMW Group. Since October 2020, he has returned to the Development Department as Senior Vice President, Connected Company Development, Technical Operations.

Dr Thomas Kropf

President, Corporate Sector Research and Advance Engineering, Robert Bosch GmbH

Prof. Thomas Kropf is President of the Corporate Sector for Research and Advance engineering at Robert Bosch GmbH since July 2018.

After pursuing an academic career in computer science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and a stint in Silicon Valley at Synopsys Inc., he joined Bosch in 1999. Thomas Kropf held different positions in microelectronics development, driver assistance and automated driving.

At Bosch Car Multimedia he was head of the business unit for Car Infotainment. Before joining Corporate Research, he was responsible for automotive systems engineering across all mobility divisions and for shaping the overall mobility technology strategy, reporting directly to the Bosch board of management.

Prof. Kropf is also adjunct professor for computer science at the University of Tübingen, Germany.

Georges Massing is the Vice President Digital Vehicle & Mobility at Daimler AG. He joined Daimler as Director User Interaction & Software for the Mercedes-Benz vehicle portfolio in 2016. Previously, he was responsible for Driver Experience, mechatronic controls and interior light for BMW AG in Munich and held various management positions in areas such as gesture and eye control, driver assistance systems, EV/hybrid vehicles and lighting systems at Magna. Georges Massing holds a graduate degree in aerospace engineering from Technical University of Berlin.

Werner Köstler

Senior Vice President, member of the VNI Management Board at Continental AG

Werner Köstler is a member of Continental AG’s VNI (Vehicle Networking and Information) management board and was head of the VNI strategy department from 2014 until 2020. Since mid-2020 he has been head of the VNI Key Projects organization. He joined Siemens VDO in 1992 where he headed the Chassis Electronic NAFTA, Body & Security business units for Tier-1 customers as well as the Corporate Strategy Asia Pacific in Shanghai. After the acquisition of Siemens VDO by Continental in 2007/2008, Werner Köstler took over the position as Vice President of the Interior Korea division in Seoul, after which he led the Body & Security Asian OEM division in Yokohama, Japan.

Dr Kazuo Iwano

Dr. Kazuo Iwano has been working for Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation to realize new business model and digital transformation by exploiting digital technology and its concept as Chief Digital Officer since 2017 and as a Fellow since April 2020. Prior to the Mitsubishi Corporation, he worked at IBM and engaged in various roles such as VP of Emerging Businesses Opportunities, Director of Tokyo Research Laboratory, Director of Autonomic Computing, T.J. Watson Research center and VP of Yamato Software Laboratory. He is a member of IEEE, ACM, and SIAM, a fellow of the Information Processing Society of Japan, and an associated member of the Science Council of Japan. He has been a visiting professor of the Tokyo Institute of Technology since 2010.

Dr Riclef Schmidt-Clausen

Senior Vice President, Domain Intelligent Cockpit & Body, CARIAD SE (Volkswagen Group)

Dr. Riclef Schmidt-Clausen is Senior Vice President at CARIAD SE (Volkswagen Group) – Domain Intelligent Cockpit & Body. In this role, he is responsible for Platform & Function Development in the field of Infotainment & Body, among them Digital Assistant, Navigation, Entertainment, App Store and In-Car Apps, Mobile Key, Personalisation, as well as Mobile Apps. From 2009 to 2021, he led e.solutions GmbH, a joint venture between Elektrobit GmbH (subsidiary of Continental) and Audi Electronics Venture GmbH, which develops infotainment software solutions for the VW Group. Prior to this, Dr. Schmidt-Clausen led diverse teams at Audi AG and also worked as the Volkswagen Technical Representative in Tokyo for Audi Electric/Electronics, while completing his doctorate degree at the Technical University Darmstadt.
