VinFast VF 8 and VF 9 electric sport utility vehicles (SUVs) for European markets will include the HERE ISA Map to give drivers accurate speed limits at all times.
VinFast, part of the Vingroup JSC conglomerate, which is Vietnam's largest, has global ambitions and is launching its latest range of electric SUVs in Europe.
Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) technology is mandatory in all new vehicles made for the European market from this month. As well as compliance with EU law, the Vietnamese manufacturer wants to give its drivers a safe and smooth driving experience.
The HERE ISA Map provides information on both explicit speed limits visible on road signs and implicit speed limits where the road signs have no numerical value. Providing drivers with this important safety guidance on local speed regulations is especially useful when drivers have difficulty recognizing speed limits that depend on particular conditions and situations. It also helps when they are distracted, have missed traffic signs and warnings, or cannot see clearly in bad weather.
From July 2024 onwards, automakers must equip every new vehicle sold in the EU with ISA features.
