#BuiltWithHERE series explores real-world location-based solutions developers are building with the HERE platform. Each post highlights developer solutions and apps that are timely, innovative, and transformative.
In this blog post, we'll highlight the work of LINK, a logistics company specializing in international road transport, particularly within the automotive sector, where "Just-In-Time" is a strict requirement. With a mature IT infrastructure and a proactive approach to digital transformation, LINK delivers high service quality and operational precision, despite operating a moderately sized fleet. This agility has enabled them to work with leading global brands across Europe, delivering mission-critical transport services daily.
With over 30 years of experience in the logistics industry, LINK thrives on tackling complex challenges. They've built custom digital and operational solutions for demanding clients, helping them scale their businesses efficiently. As part of the Waberer’s Group, LINK provides flexible, scalable transport and logistics solutions aligned with enterprise-level expectations.
LINK's end users are primarily multinational corporations across sectors such as automotive, FMCG, electronics, e-commerce, and retail. One of the most critical use cases is real-time, delay-sensitive delivery - particularly for automotive clients, where materials are delivered directly to production lines. A single delay can halt the entire manufacturing process. LINK's systems are engineered to prioritize reliability, transparency, and responsiveness.
In logistics, live traffic isn't a nice-to-have, it's essential. HERE's real-time traffic data allows LINK's dispatchers and planners to adjust routes dynamically based on real-time congestion, closures, or delays. This flexibility reduces fuel consumption, mitigates driver stress, and ensures higher on-time delivery performance, particularly critical for time-sensitive sectors like automotive or retail replenishment.
LINK’s ERP system already uses HERE Maps for route planning and corridor validation.
LINK
Product Team
LINK is currently focused on road transportation, especially in handling truck-specific constraints. They rely on HERE data throughout the delivery lifecycle - from planning and quotation to execution. At the quotation stage, to model realistic delivery windows and costs; during execution, to adapt to real-world changes in road conditions. HERE components integrated across LINK's systems include:
Routing APIs – truck constraints, traffic forecasts
Vector Tiles API – map visualizations
Geocoding & Reverse Geocoding – accurate address resolution
Toll Costs – cost estimation and compliance
Geocoding & Routing & Toll Costs for Trucks helps build accurate cost models and ensure legal compliance, whereas Live Traffic and Routing APIs help drivers avoid delays and optimize performance on the road in real time.
LINK has embedded HERE services across multiple products, supporting:
Real-time navigation for professional drivers
Live vehicle tracking for dispatchers
Route optimization and pricing analysis
LINK takes advantage of HERE’s flexible floating licensing model, which aligns with their operational structure and simplifies driver account management.
While integration with HERE WeGo was generally smooth, LINK faced limitations around bulk driver key management. The HERE team provided access to a test API to help during the pilot rollout. This feature will be addressed in a future release by exposing a key management API. LINK also flagged a bug related to POIs in multi-waypoint routes and got it resolved, showing how responsive support can make a real difference during implementation.
HERE enables LINK to deliver more predictable and punctual transport services. They're currently developing a lightweight web interface for customers to track shipments in real time, with HERE Maps providing the visualization layer. This will improve transparency and boost customer satisfaction. Though still in the rollout phase, early feedback from both dispatchers and drivers has been overwhelmingly positive. The solution enhances alignment between planned and actual routes, and streamlines the driver's experience on the road.
The developer-friendly integration of HERE WeGo Pro allowed LINK to skip the heavy lifting of navigation tech and instead focus on integrating value directly into the driver app. Support for floating licenses makes it an attractive alternative to legacy systems, particularly for fleets with dynamic driver rosters. LINK has valued HERE’s willingness to collaborate, respond quickly, and to co-create meaningful solutions that tackle common logistical challenges.
