HERE and DJI partner on mapping interface technology for drone pilots

The partnership means pilots will be able to precisely navigate their drones with the benefit of high-grade map data from HERE.

DJI, a global leader in unmanned aerial technology, has worked with HERE to develop mapping interface technology for its DJI GO app.

Industry-grade map data from HERE allow drone pilots to pinpoint their exact location in real-time, and ensure precise navigation during critical segments of flight. The DJI GO app works offline, so pilots can take advantage of these features when out of mobile network range. The technology from HERE will also track flight paths to enable on-the-fly changes and provides a direct line home.

"This partnership marks a momentous leap in the increased functionality of drones across the globe, giving pilots independence and inspiring them to be more adventurous.”
