The new HERE documentation website is live

docs

We’re excited to unveil the new HERE documentation website: docs.here.com!

The new site includes several updates that help provide easier access to the technical product information you need to use HERE APIs, SDKs, and data.

  • AI: The “ask AI” experience is improved to be a conversational experience similar to other AI chat tools. It provides robust answers, including code samples, and (if you are logged in) will remember your conversation history. We’ve removed the “Explain this code” button that appeared above all codeblocks in the documentation, since the feedback was that this was not helpful.

  • Search: Search has been simplified so that you can easily filter by product. The search function itself has also been improved to provide better results, making it easier to quickly find specific words and phrases in HERE documentation. We have also updated titles and headings to reduce ambiguity in search results, reducing the cases where multiple pages in the search results have the same title.

  • Navigation: The new site makes it easier to switch between different documents for a given API (guides, API references, changelogs) and between versions of an API. There is also a quick-access menu that lists all products so you can jump between products easily, without having to go back to the home page. The new site uses the same information structure but we are conducting research into better ways to organize the information, so stay tuned for further improvements in the months ahead.

  • Look and feel: The new site supports dark mode (a much requested feature) and the colors and layout have been refreshed.

Let us know what you think

We hope the new site makes it easier for you to quickly find the information you need. We are always interested in your feedback, so don’t hesitate to use the “Did this page help you” rating buttons at the bottom of each page to send us your thoughts.
