Maps API for JavaScript 3.1.68.0 + 3.1.69.0

Maps API for JavaScript version 3.1.68.0 introduces filter capabilities for time-based vehicle restrictions on vector rendered maps.

You can now filter the vehicle restrictions rendered on the map to restrictions that that only apply for a specific time or a time range.

Two feature modes are supported

active & inactive differentiated
active only

Vehicle restrictions displayed in full color without any filtering

Left Image: Feature mode 'active & inactive differentiated': All the active vehicle restrictions are displayed in full colors, while the inactive ones are displayed in faded colors.

Right Image: Feature mode 'active only': All the active vehicle restrictions are displayed, while the inactive ones are hidden.

The new features supplement existing functionality for the Transportation and Logistics use case like general Vehicle Restrictions, Vehicle Profiles, the Logistics Map Style ,and rendering for congestion or environmental zones.

Maps API for JavaScript version 3.1.69.0 provides greater functionality for Transportation and Logistics uses by introducing truck-preferred route filters to the vehicle profile. Maps can now be configured to only display routes that can fit a specific truck type.

Additional value for axle based weight limit for trucks

The value wpan_seven_axles for the hgv_restriction attribute was added to the advanced_roads optional layer.

HERE Raster Tile API 3.0.64

Added support for large tiles (size=512) to the 'dem' style.

Routing API 8.140.0

Routing APIs now consider Empty Weight

Routing API v8, Matrix Routing API v8 and Isoline Routing API v8 now considers vehicle [emptyWeight] restrictions. Restrictions on a vehicle’s maximum allowed empty weight are present on 2,700 road links across the United States and Singapore.

Routing APIs now consider tires count

Routing API v8, Matrix Routing API v8 and Isoline Routing API v8 now consider vehicle [tiresCount] restrictions. Restrictions on the maximum allowed number of wheels are present on 41,500 road links across Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, the United States, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

This parameter had already existed in Routing (for toll costs), and its functionality has now been extended to restrictions. It was newly added to Matrix / Isoline.

HERE Real Time Traffic

Increase flow coverage to have more continuous flow coverage on UK highways.
Improved handling of closures for Queensland, Australia.
Fixed valid calculation of valid times for schedules for New York provider. Fixed valid calculation of valid times for schedules for New York provider.
Addressed false positive accident issue due to flickering events for incident provider.
Improved Reversible Handling for ACV/ACD.

Platform Status

Platform Status page and API now provide 13 months of events

The Platform Status page and the API now provide 13 months of event data to ensure rapid response times.

HERE SDK 4.23.5.0

This release contains performance improvements and quality-of-life updates. New features were also added:

Navigation: The RealisticViewWarning images now contain visualizations for Electronic Toll Collection System (ETC) locations in Japan.
Segment map data: Added RoadUsages.isPriorityRoad to indicate whether a segment span has signs indicating priority on the road.
sdk.mapdata.AdasAttributes now identifies the ADAS attributes, such as slope and elevation, of a segment if LayersConfiguration.ADAS is enabled.
Segment map data: Added adasAttributes to SegmentData. It retrieves the AdasAttributes of a segment when LayersConfiguration.ADAS is enabled.
Lane assistance: Added the directions field to the LaneMarkings class which contains a list of all available LaneDirections .
Segment map data: The SegmentData class was extended by adding a LaneBlock field to store the lane data of a segment. Lane data will be loaded with segment data if the SegmentDataLoaderOptions.loadLaneBlocks flag is set to true .
Navigation: The RealisticViewWarning images now contain visualizations for service areas and parking areas along highways in Japan.
Added sdk.mapdata.SegmentData.RoadSigns to describe road signs of a segment.
Navigation: Added Maneuver.spanIndex to retrieve the span index from the Section.spans list where the maneuver is located.
Segment map data: Added loadAdasAttributes() to SegmentDataLoaderOptions . It defines whether AdasAttributes should be loaded when LayersConfiguration.ADAS is enabled.

Shipment emission reports and score card APIs have been deprecated:

What's in the works

HERE Map Attributes API v8, Route Matching API V8, Geofencing API V8 and Waypoints Sequencing API V8

Starting December 2025, HERE Map Attributes API v8, Route Matching API V8, Geofencing API V8 and Waypoints Sequencing API V8 will no longer support GET requests with HTTP request lines longer than 8000 characters.

To ensure that your solution remains fully functional, use POST requests, or limit the line length to 8000 characters or less. To learn more about the available endpoints and methods, see the API references.
