The product helps shipping and logistics companies – organisations we all rely on every day – across every aspect of transportation, rules-compliance and customs processing worldwide.
Using Oracle Transportation Management, those companies can manage their transportation needs at every step of the way, helping to minimise costs, allow better service levels and automate some of the processes involved.
Oracle is one of the world’s largest IT providers, with more than 420,000 customers, including all 100 of the Fortune 100 companies.
So what does the HERE platform add to this suite?
External Distance Engine: Oracle uses HERE geocoding and other capabilities to calculate distances and transit times between locations.
Mapping: maps from the HERE platform are fully integrated in the new interface of the product. Users can clearly visualise locations, routes, and the exact position of shipments. They can also see extra features which might affect deliveries, such as real-time traffic and incidents.
Street level routing: users of the system get point-to-point routing between locations, guiding drivers exactly where they need to be – down to the position of the right doorway – for the fastest delivery speed.
HERE has already been working with Oracle for 15 years, supplying maps and location information. With this latest integration, HERE location intelligence is even more vital to everyday services and events that affect companies large and small.
