Creating a HERE account to sync your Collections on Android

It’s now possible to set up your own HERE account, saving your favorite locations as Collections and accessing them wherever you go.

If you’ve already got plenty of Collections saved in your Nokia account, it’s also easy to copy over all you need from one to the other, along with syncing your Collections across different devices. Read on to find out all you need to know.

Setting up a HERE account

When you head to beta.here.com (make sure you request access to it), you’ll be asked to set up a HERE account to start collecting your favorite places. Tap "Create a HERE account", and you’ll be able to enter more information, including you name, email, password and a few other details, helping you to get going.

Setting up a HERE account will allow you to synchronize Collections with the HERE apps on Samsung Galaxy smartphones, Nokia X smartphones and soon also with your Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

It takes seconds to fill in, and once you’ve finished you’ll be able to import all your collections from your existing Nokia account.

To get started, tap the "Dive in" button.

Migrate Collections from Nokia account to HERE

Pressing the menu option at the top right of the screen, and then "HERE account" makes it easy to sync everything from your Nokia account, and all you need to do is select ‘Import’. Please remember that you can import your Collections from your Nokia account to your HERE account only once.

The following screen lets you log into your Nokia account and makes the sync possible. So enter your details and sign in. Once your collections and other details have finished migrating, you’ll be informed "Everything’s been copied to your HERE account", and you’ll also get a confirmation email.

Once you’ve done that, you’re good to go, with Collections copied across automatically. And that’s it, all your Collections synced easily across your supported devices.

[Update] The app is out now and available for download through the built-in Samsung App Store on compatible devices. Read more about getting started here.
