    The Senior Global Category Manager (Sr. GCM) is responsible for developing and executing the global category strategies and improvement plans for IT (including hardware, software, cloud services, WAN, and telecom) categories. This individual will incorporate best practices and align with the business requirements and company strategy. The Sr. GCM roles and responsibilities will include the following:


    • Enhance trusting relationships with the senior business / functional stakeholders and key executives with preferred suppliers
    • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure effective, collaborative and strategic sourcing decisions are made that satisfy requirements of internal stakeholders
    • Develop, mentor, and coach category managers and/or senior category analysts in close alignment with Regional Heads
    • Set targets / objectives and managing key vendors performance
    •  Define and drive global category strategies and improvement plans
      • Enhance category expertise by leveraging external networks, business stakeholders, and key suppliers
      • Translate improvement objectives (efficiency, savings, etc.) into viable category business plans
      • Define the sourcing strategy and levers to pull early in the project
    • Lead and/or work with category managers to conduct sourcing events in area of oversight
      • Develop and maintains market information on suppliers and identifies qualified supply base
      • Creates or oversees RFQ / RFP creation with regards to execution of bid events
      • Work with cross-functional / global stakeholders to develop selection criteria
      • Conduct supplier negotiations
    • Support development of cross-functional and global teams
      • Work with internal customers and key stakeholders for inclusion
      • Interfaces with internal customers to understand requirements, demand management opportunities, and issues resolution
      • Engages key stakeholders for inclusion in sourcing strategy development and execution
      • Resolves conflict as it arises between stakeholder requirements and sourcing strategy
    • Manages ongoing vendor relationships with business and functional leads
      • Acts as a liaison between business / functional leads and supplier; owns compliant resolution
      • Participates in regular supplier meetings
      • Implements improvement ideas with supplier
    • Helps drive tracking and reporting for category spend areas
      • Develops tracking mechanisms and supplier key performance indicators with manager
      • Tracks compliance to preferred supplier list
      • Supports formal management reporting to senior executives
    • Coaches team members on using procurement tools and systems to create operational efficiency and visibility
    • Negotiates skillfully in situations with both internal and external parties; can win concessions while maintaining relationships; can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic
    • Relatively independence with coaching and guidance provided
    • Creative in identifying total cost of ownership reduction opportunities
    • 15+ business experience in strategic sourcing based on years below; global sourcing a plus
    • Management consulting experience a plus
    • BS with MBA a plus
    • Solid analytical and problem solving skills; excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation skills
    • Ability to interface / engage with senior clients and suppliers via strong written, oral, and presentation skills
    • Ability to influence and motivate decision making within peer and key stakeholder groups.
