HERE, the Open Location Platform company, today announced the appointment of Angel L. Mendez as Chief Operating Officer, a new position within HERE. Starting August 15, 2016, Mendez, a senior executive with deep experience in optimizing and transforming business operations, will join the HERE Leadership Team and assume responsibility for the strategic and operational execution of the company’s core business, with a particular emphasis on operational excellence, business process innovation and systems automation.

He brings a wealth of experience and deep knowledge from the IT and communications industry that made him the ideal COO in this exciting transformational time at HERE,” said Edzard Overbeek, CEO, HERE.

Mendez brings over 30 years of management expertise to HERE. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President - Transformation at Cisco. Prior to this role, he led Cisco’s Customer Value Chain Management organization. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Palm.
Mendez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Crummer School at Rollins College.
